Senior Counsel | Executive Coaching
Welcome to Kuendig Group Consulting, a coaching and consulting firm. We offer individual and team-based coaching and senior counsel for organizational transformations. Transformation is fundamental change, rather than incremental. Our intention with each engagement is an experience that brings insight, a new perspective, and growth.
Working with KGC is different. Our practice is based in an integated model pulling insights from psychology, Zen, communications, and decades of work with industry leading firms. Mindfulness, for example, is not a workshop we offer; it cannot be learned in this way. Mindfulness is a daily practice—a way of being present in each moment. We offer mindfulness training within our coaching practice. We operate as guides in your coaching or consulting journey, not as a pair of hands.
Our engagement begins with a review of your fundamentals. This process ensures that your fundamentals are in place and aligned. For example, why do you exist, what is your core identity, what differentiates you, and what unique value do you create for customers. This may feel unnecessary, but we find it important to begin at the beginning. There are many ways for an organization to drift from its fundamentals, including success. As a trusted advisor in the leadership development and organizational space, our clients include individuals from Fortune 500 companies, midsize, non profits, and startups.
We live in trying times. Such times tend to bond us together as a global community. Nowhere is this more evident than in our Olympics, where people from countries around the world come together to celebrate our shared humanity. "The best of humanity is found in courage, compassion, and kindness," said Kirsty Coventry, 2026 International Olympics Committee President. At the opening ceremony, Charlize Theron shared this from Nelson Mandela: "Peace is more than just the absence of conflict. Peace is the creation of an environment where all can flourish, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, class, caste, or any other social markers of difference." The Olympics offers an example of people competing and living side by side peacefully, while respecting and celebrating our differences.
Great leaders bring people together. They model ethical behavior. They build trust. They build relations based on trust and respect. To build a great company is to build a great reputation. Savvy leaders know that reputation is the foundation of an organization. It takes years to craft a reputation and only minutes to destroy. Sadly, the reputation of the United States offers a prime example of this point, and on a global stage. The Kuendig Group guides leaders in creating strong relationships, sustainable cultures, and sound business practices.
It is easy for an organization to drift from its core identity. "Ironically, success can hasten drift," says Jon Iwata, Executive Fellow and Lecturer at Yale School of Management. "Expansion introduces shifting priorities and complexity and acquisitions can add new cultural DNA," adds Jon. Conventional strategies can be inadequate when a company loses connection to its core identity. In such cases, what is needed, rather than transformation, is Refounding, a term coined by Iwata. Refounding is helping an organization get back to its core nature: why it exists, what makes it distinctive, and the unique value it creates for its customers and employees.
Today we see significant upheavel in the world on many levels. Leaders need intelligence that enables them to act in the moment. Organizations struggle with the complexity of competition, the effects of global politics, growth and how it changes an organization's cultural DNA. The Kuendig Group offers behavioral intelligence to help leaders get back on their core path, as Steve Jobs did for Apple when he returned to save the company. Our purpose is helping leaders understand this and getting organizations aligned.
Intelligence
At a recent World Economic Forum, the primary focus for leaders was on rebuilding trust. See more about the forum including other themes like investmenting in people. Senior McKinsey partners provide a debrief. McKinsey sees stronger influence by geopolitical forces today, including wars, changes in leadership, and national priorities that influence other nations, like technology and AI. Check out McKinsey's Media Day for a summary of what they see coming in the future.
Artificial intelligence is the topic du jour. Leaders everywhere seek to integrate AI within their business models. Boston Consulting Group has developed an AI Primer available on how to close the gap. Additional primers are available from Bain & Company and elsewhere.
Managing Change
With so much change and uncertainty, these are challenging times for decision makers. Consider how much our world changed since 2020. What started as a health concern influenced change in almost every aspect of business and society, and continues today. One virus wreaked havoc globally, and we’re still adapting. Climate change, regardless of cause, is wreaking havoc across the globe, affecting business, travel, and ordinary life. Artificial intelligence is just the latest wave of change, and just beginning.
As leaders continue to adapt to change, new challenges surface. What we know is that tomorrow will bring more change. To manage change, leaders need to be informed with the latest intelligence, capable of seeing the future, able to create agile structure, and able to change form as needed in the moment. To support leaders today, KGC offers behavioral intelligence.
KGC works with leaders on the topics of the day, designing stategies for change, aligning culture, developing stategies for growth, and improving communication. Services include large group facilitation and coaching plans tailored to individual needs and focused on insight and next-level skills. We are located in Montara, California.
More on Change, Strategy, & Coaching
As leaders today reimagine how to bring people together and be productive, we have a few recommendations. Build and protect your reputation. Nourish your culture and bring it to life, as a community. Revisit your organization's intention—the need your company meets in society and your purpose for existing. Understand the alignment of your cultural values to this purpose. Develop an ongoing leadership practice, as part of your day-to-day business life, rather than a workshop here and there.
The Kuendig Group offers development based on key leadership qualities, applied behavioral science principles, and sound business strategies. Our focus is to help leaders see themselves and their organizations differently, with new possibility. Consider Kuendig Group Consulting for your next challenge.
